Centenary of the Cenotaph at Cross-a-Moor

This October marks 100 years of the installation of the cenotaph at Cross-a-Moor in remembrance of those who fought and lost their lives i n World War 1. Members of Pennington Memorial Hall Committee and Pennington Parish Council had been making plans to hold a community event to mark this date. However, Covid-19 restrictions impacted on their ability to do so. In light of these restrictions, a wreath has been placed on the cenotaph on behalf of the community. When Covid restrictions have been fully lifted, a belated event to celebrate the cenotaph and remember those from our community who gave their lives in combat will be held. Until then, we ask that you please spend just a moment in quiet reflection and respect when you pass.
